Drum Brake Size?

I have a 95 f-250. It has the 5.8L 351. I had to take it off the road because the brakes and four wheel was shot. I am dealing with the four wheel but I need to fix the brakes. It has drum brakes in the back. The front brakes work fine. So did the back ones. One day I was driving to my brothers only like 2 miles and the brakes in the back stopped working. I could lock up the fronts but the back didn’t do any thing. I bled the brakes and I had fluid at the rear. What would cause this? I never really worked with drums so I am not familiar with them. I tried to get the wheel cylinders and the pads but they said they need to know what size they are. How would I find out the size of the brakes with out taking them apart?

How do you know the back brakes weren't working? You do know it has rear ABS, and they won't lock up right?

yeah I do know that but when i first got the truck running well i would just hold down the brakes and hold the gas. my fronts would hold really well and the rears wouldnt hinder the tire movement at all. I have since gotten enough tickets for burn outs and smartened up so now i want to fix the problem and get a good working truck.

If you don't "power brake" it, that should cut down on the tickets. The only way to know for sure what size brakes you have is to pull a drum. Most likely 3'' shoes, sometimes you can give the parts guy GAWR,you don't need wheel cylinders if they're not leaking.
