I was just thinking that the 2wd 460 was rear sump.
No my Pvc is not hooked up where should I hook it up to?
I think I have just been over filling it. The breather on driver side has very little blow-by coming out. The dipstick just sits in the cover. If my memory serves me right I think the last owner lost the original.
I'm just trying to keep it from spraying oil on my hood when I floor it.
The PCV valve hooks to a vacuum line on the rear of the carb or intake. The breather hose coming from the drivers side valve cover connects to the air cleaner which should have a breather filter in it to filter the air sucked in by the PCV valve.
I can get you the correct part number off of my dipstick the next time I am down where the truck is. It may still be available from Ford.
There really isn't much of a seal on the dipstick. It may just be too much blow-by from a weak compression ring seal.
Well, I had someone else look at the engine and they said that it didn't have very bad blow-by in there opinnion. he adjusted the carb and it really cleaned up the exhaust and the engine start running alot smoother.
I know it is over filled cause when I put the 10w40 in and noticed the oil pressure drop when warm and at idle. I put some Delo 400 in and it helped the oil pressure. I plan on changing the oil to 20w50 this weekend and was hoping to make sure I had the right dipstick. I also think the carb was so rich that it was washing down the cylinders and getting into the oil.
Also paln on putting the factory airbox back on and hooking the PVC back up. The only thing about the factory airbox is I think it hits the throttle linkage with this carb. (not for sure)
