Clicking sound while driving

I have an 04' screw and while I am driving I hear a constant interval of clicking down by my left foot. Has anyone else heard this? It seems to be inside the cab but I cannot pinpoint any thing that could cause this. Let me know please before I break out the sledge hammer.

Is your defrost on? If so, it could be your A/C cycling on and off...

I have '04 fx4 scab, and had the same problem, drives me crazy. In my truck it sounds like two metal rods lightly hitting together. The clicking is itermittent, and seems to start after I've driven a few miles. It's hard to pinpoint where the sound is coming from. Sound seems to be coming from under the dash or in the fender, I thought there may be a piece of weld slag down in the bottom of the fender panel. I've had it to the dealer several times. Finally I made them take off the door panel while I watched, I stuck my hand down in the bottom of the door, and found some plastic door panel clips broken off lying in the bottom of the door, when my finger hit the pieces it sounded the same?. The odd thing is that to my knowledge that panel has never been off. I've driven quit a bit and havn't heard it again. The dealer ordered a new panel, but I havn't go back to have it installed. Don't know if this is a fix, just hoping.
