i wouldent trust edmunds at all. ive read some reviews of cars/trucks and they dont know what they are talking about half the time. as for the release date it should be sooner than this fall. if ford want to get good sales #'s then they have to release them sooner than that.
I'm pretty sure the new truck isn't going to be released until the clean diesel fuel is to go with it- and that's 1/1/07. But I do see where Job#1 is scheduled for May 15th, like Jeff mentioned. Could Ford could be juggling model years because of CAFE standards? just a guess, mind you. I had a little birdie tell me the new truck was coming out of Kansas City as a '08- but I have no idea how reliable that particular birdie is.

Let's see..... the last 2006 S/D is scheduled to roll off the line May 13th (a Saturday), and the 2006s start up on the 15th. How many people here could shut down an assembly line, completely re-tool it on a Sunday, and start it back up for production on Monday morning? Now, add in to the equation that we're talking about FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THE UAW here, and I'd say the Lord almighty couldn't help 'em get that one accomplished! Very doubtful that the 2007 is a major redesign.

They would be blowing their horn if it was a re-design and their isn't one at the Detroit show and it's not listed for Chicago or New York. We've also completed tooling for the '07 Expy and Navigator interiors and they launch later than the Super Duty.

haha... Thats a fair point, but a lot of times they build the pilot fleet (around 100-500 vehicles) on the same line as the current shape. Just to check everything, and it is a swap over operation where quite often the line doesn't even stop - just bang, new model starts coming out.
A pilot run of '08's was already completed and shipped to Michigan before the Christmas holidays- under tight security. Or so I'm told. And they were built in KC.
