oil drain plug leaks
I have a 97 diesel that leaks at the drain plug for the oil. The plug is tightly threaded in hole. I went to the auto parts store and they sold me another metal washer. I don't think this will fix the leak. Any other ideas that might work? Thanks Jeff

I used a new crush washer (not just a flat one) on mine and it still leaks. My previous oil change I used a new flat washer and it leaked. Seems as if it's leaking past the washer somehow. Of course, now that there's 14 quarts of oil in, there's nothing much I can do about checking the hole more closely until the next oil change. Which won't be for a while since I don't put a lot of mileage on it. Anyone had this problem and tried a completely new plug?
