brake light issue

Hi all,
My driver's side brake light works intermittently. I noticed today that when it does NOT work, turning the left turn signal on and off causes the brake light to work normally. No problems on passenger's side.
Any thoughts?

The bulb or connection or ground will help I think its all a bit of time with electrical I find, just think it out and break it down and it'll work for ya ...TR
