I'm having trouble getting the steering wheel off my 69 F100. Got the horn button off, got the nut off the center but my puller won't budge the thing. Is there a trick I'm missing?
I have made taking my steering wheel off a common event around my house lately. I had to change the turn signal switch out and I am still trying to fix my horn. I used an ordinary steering wheel puller to get mine off. I threaded the two bolts in and then started cranking on the center bolt. It took a little elbow grease the first time to get it off, but now it pops right off. I would suggest keep on keeping on. Maybe take some WD40 and spray on the wheel and let it sit for a night and then try the next day?????? Good Luck!
I had trouble with the through bolt on the puller slipping off the steering shaft, so I put a shallow socket over the steering shaft to keep it from slipping, I think it was a 3/4 socket , worked like a charm,
