Finally dented rear bumper 04 250 SD snowplowing. Anyone know where to get custom made HD rear bumpers. I built last one on 93 350 out of 4" x 8" 1/2 inch steel angle. Backed into several trees with that and never bent it. It was just a matter of time before I backed into something. Stock bumpers are flimsy at best, but at least it didn't hit body. Been searching but can't find much. Thanks!
Well hey buddy, I've been plowing in the high mountains of colorado since 1974 and after a 12 hr. plow day sometimes you lose concentration and have a mishap, so I wish I hadn'et backed into a tree but this stuff happens. I'm glad you are so perfect.
Depending on how bad it is, maybe you can put a hook and chain on it and wrap the chain around the tree and pull it straight? I have done this with my factory bumper which is probably flimsier than yours, but it worked and it didn't take much power to do.

I don't think he is worried about the tree being crooked! lol But really, I have seen the buckstop bumper and it is cool. You can get it w/ cut outs for b/u lights. About the comment about plowing for 12 hours, after 24 it is easier to just hit something instead of moving your foot to the brake pedal.
Been there done that. Tree didn't move. I made a bumper for my truck that has to be the beefiest one on the planet. I think you could total the truck and the bumper would survive, 6x8" box steel 1/4" wall, capped the ends and put 2 lights in there so I can see what I hit next time. Nice because I took off the trailer hitch and used 3 1/2 " 3/8"angle under the frame and bolted it up to the bottom of the frame in 4 spots on each side with grade 8 bolts. I welded a new hitch rec on the bottom that is miles stronger than the stock hitch plus alittle higher which is good for my trailer. On the bottom of the bumper I put 2 99 f350 front hooks on for a place to grab....Beefy.
