Was just at a body shop talking to this fellow who was a real Ford nut, he saw the truck I was driving and wanted to show me his custom fabricated stuff. I must say I fell in love with his designs especially one that had a large opening at the windshield end and funtionable slits along the length of the hood, basically a hood for superchargers (which I plan on getting when the cash is available). My question is he wanted $800 dollars(canadian) for the hood with paint, is that a decent price? Anyone here have pics of induction hoods on there f-150's?
I've looked at the stick on ones and all I can say is yuk! Seen alot on Chevs and I just laugh my a** of when I see them.
An open hood in the rear can cause misfire problems if water gets into the spark plug pockets, but that is one thing that Chevy did right, The Cowl Induction hood.
The fellow aslo e-mailed me last night and is going to send pics when his proto-types are done and painted, I'll post them when I get them. Quality is very good, looks like they were manufactured at a high preformance shop. The opening in the back is molded to the excact angle of the window, I don think any water could get in there unless you go through a huge puddle. I cant wait until they are done, the middle part of the hood has some good height to it, very cool!
