Swapping 300 for 302 CFI

Alright, made up my mind to take the 300 out. It is old and has serious blow-by among other problems. Really needs a rebuild, but I don't have time or money to spend on it right now.

I am a "use what you got" kind of guy, and have an 84 Crown Vic Wagon with the throttle body injection (CFI as Ford called it). I'm gonna swap that into the truck for various reasons. The car is junk, and I use my truck for rockcrawling, etc.., so fuel injection would be nice. It will mate to a T18 4 speed.

Now that you know most of the story, what all do I need to make this work as far as bolting things up? Motor mounts? Clutch stuff? I'm not worrying as much about the electrical, as we can get that all worked out, but was curious mostly about mounts and what I need for the clutch to work.

I know the 300 is better for torque, but not worried about that at this point. The gearing is low enough that I have plenty of torque to crawl, plus I'd like to keep the power down so I will have a harder time snapping axle shafts with a spool/locker in the axles.

Thanks all.

If the 302 is complete, your good to go. The one thing that you will need to scrounge up is the frame mounts for the motor. The 300 and 302 use different mounts. These mounts are the same for f100-f150-f250 in 1980-1986 and maybe up to 1996. They are a pain to remove because they are rivoted to the crossmember. There are two rivots that need to be removed on the donor truck...

Besides the obvious wiring fun, the only things I can see that would be a prob would be the oilpan (need a truck pan a pick up tube), rubber motor mounts for the engine, and exhaust....
