I phoned around got some prices on a lift pump for the PSD and my local parts store was the cheapest by a dollar. The Ford and Napa wanted 301.00 dollars and my local parts store 300 dollars. I'am going to get the local parts store to get me a pump I have no choice thats the price what us Canadians have to pay for parts.
I examined the situation and I will get the local diesel repair shop to change the pump so it looks like it will be a 500 dollar repair job
This truck is biting me in the azz the supposidy rebuilt engine ya right I can see why the dealer washed the engine to hide any evidence.
I got a good look at the situation this morning now that the engine was cold and I could get near it I was hoping it would be weeping banjo washer nope dry as a bone. So I'am SOL its got to be the pump as I did take some brake clean and cleaned the area under the pump then went for a drive and it looks like its coming from the bottom of the pump.
I'am probably going to slap a forsale sign on the truck its time to get rid of it before it starts to cost me more money. What worries me the most is the engine I don't know what has been done and I don't know how many kilometers are on it. I have other people interested in it I think I should let it go.
I know the the guy that did the engine install I think he did a quick slap together job for the dealer just to get rid of the truck.
After what this is going to cost me a V-10 powered truck is looking way more enticing or I will go back to a IDI.
Sorry about your truck! I know kinda how you feel, bought my 1997 F350 used with 85,000. One month later cps went out, then then the ICP (?) sensor. Then last month the dual mass fly wheel and last the fuel pump. But I love the dang truck, pulls like an sob! Way beter milage Than a 460! Anywho good luck with your truck!
i offered to send you one...all you gotta do is send me the $$$. there only 70 bucks or so here...i know your dollar is different than ours but paypal converts it for ya. i asked you in another post is shipping that bad to canada or something? i just dont get it???
i wouldnt think shipping would be more than $25 at the most.
what does 100 dollars in us currency equate to in canada?
Some people would rather complain than do the right thing, by buying the pump from you 1997 f350. You can lead a horse to water, well you know the rest of the saying. I just removed the fuel pump on my 97, and bought it from autozone here in az. for 81 bucks. Now for the hard part of putting it all back together. Jeff

When I looked at napa online the price of a pump is 105.00 US that would be
122.76 CND
40.00 shipping approx
22.75 Tax
-------
185.51 approx I don't know what the duty charge would be.
It will also probably take a week for the part to arrive. I ordered the part from the local parts store it was picked up today at their supplier and I can get it tommorow.
I talked to the new guy at the repair shop he said not a problem he likes Powerstroke engines. So he isn't going to have a problem replacing the pump for me.
He said to me today he switched to synthetic engine oil in his 96 its the best thing he did. I need to change the oil in my truck I'am wondering if synthetic is worth it as it does cost 120 dollars for the oil where Delo 400 is only 60 dollars.
Hopefully I should have the pump done on Thursday.
