Gas Door Issues Anyone?
Okay, I have had my 04 now for a 6 months and finally have 5k miles on her (my main transportation is my motorcycle) and well...the gas door wouldn't stay open. So I brushed it off. Then yesterday it wouldn't stay closed either. It really pissed me off. Guess the inside mechanism broke. They fixed it at the dealers but it took them 2 hours. At least it wasn't me waiting (my wife took it in for me on her day off... how nice..guess I owe her dinner).
So if your gas door won't stay open...get it into the dealer...As it won't stay closed either in a little bit.

I have read many post about the '04 Gas Doors. I have been treating mine with great caution ever since. It seems like these doors are one of the few things they did not engineer very well. I have been thinking about purchasing one of the metal after market doors I have seen around. They seem to be built a little stronger. I have had great luck with my truck so far (now at about 6500 miles). Hoping not to run into some of the other problems I have read about in here.

THe problem with the aftermarket doors, is that they just "stick" on with 3M tape over the current door. No thanks. I found a nice billet one, but since I really really like both kidneys...I am forced to pass on it.
