transmission compatibility

Do the 385 blocks and FE blocks share a bolt pattern for transmissions?

I've scored an allison 545 off of a 370, and am interested in running it with a 390 FE block..

No, they require different bellhousings. If I remember right the 460/429 uses the same bellhousing as the 400 and 351m. FE's use their own bolt patter/bellhousing.

He said he has a transmission off a 370.

So is the bellhousing bolt pattern the same on the 370 and 429/460?
The three engines share other simularties.

I just noticed he said he was putting it on a 390.

But I would like to know if the bellhousings are the same on the three. (I know the 429/460 are.

Thanks
