Question Another cam question

I would like to start of by saying, this site is great. I see that there are a few of you that have no problem saying that someone else is full of crap. Great entertainment, 2 thumbs up.
I have read the previous post on best cam for 390 and it seem that opinons vary.
I have recently done a frame off build of a 73 Ford f-100 XLT. New engine 390, all stock, Pertronix, Taylor wires, Edelbrock Streetmaster (I know, junk) with Edel 1406 carb, K&N, (Tremec TKO 600 5 speed w/ .64 5th gear) behind Lakewood Bell, Hedman headers w/3" pipe and 40 flowmasters, Detroit locker w/3.50:1 gears, sitting on 295/50/15s.
I am in the process of changing the .64 5th gear to the .82 gear with the Pro Shift Option and the rear end gears to 3.00:1 or either 2.86:1 . got both

For those of you who have not heard of Pro Shift please see link below.

I too am looking for a cam with a as called "lopey idle" and it was suggested to me that I try the Lunati 10503 Duration 304/324, Lift .481/.490, I was told that this is a 390gt cam? I have also been told the longer duration is what would give me the "lopey Idle". Can this cam be used with stock valve springs? I dont want to put alot work in the particular engine, cause it's only a temporary but it NEEDS the sound. Know what I mean? Would the cam I listed above get me I am looking for? Lope Lope Lope

I am no light to light drag racer, nor do I want to be. But there is no BS-ing around when I get out on the open road. Right now I am running over 100mph at 3000 rpms. That why I am changing to the .82 5th gear .64 is tooooo tall.

Sorry for the long post but I had to give you some what of an idea what I am doing.

Thanks guys

I believe the 390GT cam was 270/290 degrees with the .481/.490". Maybe I should say I know it was that.

That 390GT / 428CJ 270/290 cam will give a smooth idle.

Seat-to-seat (0.050-inch) Valve Overlap 46

IVO-18.0 IVO-1.0 Lifter Acceleration Rate 2.52
IVC-72.0 IVC-35.0
EVO-82.0 EVO-51.0
EVC-28.0 EVC- -3.0

At .050" Duration is 194 / 204

As you know this is 40 year old cam, todays cams are more agressive on lifter acceleration rates. I have this cam in a 410 for the last 19 years and it returns 14 mpg which is great as this is a daily driver.
