Problems with the "water in fuel light". I had just drained the HFCM and decided to go ahead and replace the fuel filters with no luck in the light going off. Therefore I/we all decided dealership would be best. So I tuned it back to stock and disconnected batteries for 15 minutes. I assume it reset the codes and the light went off so off to the dealership I go Thursday(well my wife). It took almost 6 hours for them to get the truck ready by replacing the Fuel Delivery Module. It fixed the problem of the light coming on but when she took it in for me it was on almost a half tank of fuel. Well when I got it back it was less than a 1/4 tank she only went the 15 mile round trip and back.
Not sure but I would imagine that you need to clear the trouble code after removing the water from the fuel system??? You probably did that when you disconnected the batteries for 15.
So they did in fact change the Fuel Delivery Modual? Did the light come back on for the Tech? I suppose that if it did, they probably needed to drive it for a while to get it to come back on. Prolly where the fuel went.
Well, .......they fixed your truck first thing, and then used it for a loaner car for somebody whose repair took longer.
j/k
I always write down my mileage when I take my rigs to the dealership. Last time that I took my Expy in, they had it for 3 days. I always have nightmares about the joy riding in Ferris Beullers Day Off. =O)
By your response, I assume the light did in fact come back on after you reset the code with the battery disconnect, on start up, or on the way to the dealer?
