took my 05 edge to the dealership at 5300 miles with what they said was a defective slave cylinder.2600 miles later she is leaking again?yet another bad slave cylinder,or did they rig her up the first time?,we all know how the stealership experience can be???any opinions???
the dealership down here is shady.after i had it fixed it started doing it again, loosing fluid and clutch pedal squeaking real bad again just like the first time.they had the nerve to tell me it is the oil pan gasket?.so when i picked it up the pedal is quiet again and she drives like the first day i picked it up,and i can tell they took the console out,and the vinyl floor wasn't put back right either.what is the deal with something being dealt with under the lemon law/i am not real familiar with it?last time i checked you did'nt have to remove the console or the vinyl floor to change a oil pan gasket.they also didnt have my paperwork done either, the service writer said since it was under warranty i could go with out my paperwork, then he said he would mail it to me,but i told him i will pick it up today after work.....

It would take far more problems and failed attempts to fix the problem than you have so far experienced to attempt any recourse under the lemon law.

Ahhh, that little trick. A local dealer has done that to me too, twice to be exact. By doing this, they are (potentially) not entering the service visit into OASIS and establishing a record of the visit which can be reviewed by Ford as well as any other delaer service department. I say potentially because your service writer might, for some odd reason, actually pull through. Mine doesn't. Gut instinct tells me they don't want to establish a trail of fixing the same thing twice in a short amount of time; it might throw a flag up, someone from Ford looks into it, and the dealer might look, well, incompetent.
I agree with Bill, on both counts. They either misdiagnosed the problem (it wasn't the slave cylinder in the first place) or didn't fix it right last time and then wouldn't admit to making a mistake.
I don't consider making one mistake a sign of incompetence; I do consider lying about it a sign of dishonesty. In light of that, I'd find a new dealer if I were you.
believe it or not they actually admitted to the slave cylinder again, and they also said the replaced the oil pan gasket.I knew they fixed the clutch issue,I just can't believe they admitted to it!!!
