89 2.9L Bronco II, Just replaced my heads and installed the 4.0 radiator. Got everything buttoned back up fresh fluids and plugs cap wires and rotor. She fired right up. But seems to be idling a little rough. Seemed smoother before replacing the heads. Could it be it just needs to be driven to get everything back in sync ?
It sould be running smoothly from the start. I would suspect something is up. Check the firing order, grounds (one at the back of the passenger side head) and timing.
The rough idle can be caused by many things. First check the codes and make sure the IAC (idle air control) valve is clean and the electrical connection is good. Also, set the TPS (throttle position sensor) to .9 volts when closed.
Retorque the lower intake manifold bolts while hot. You should do it the first time it is warm.
