Hello all!! I just swapped my i-beam for a Heidts super ride II IFS. The only problem i ran across is my bolt pattern. The stock axle was 5 on 5 1/2?? i guess and my new hubs are 5 on 4-1/2. My question is anyone knoe what type of vehicle these wheels came on??? lookin for some cheap steel ones till the project gets further along. Any models and years you can come up with would be great!! ill hit the junkyard if i have some ideas! thanx for all or any help!!
Most medium sized Fords, Chrysler, AMC, Jeep, all have the 5 on 4.5 pattern. Measure the pattern from the center of one hole, skip one, and then to the outside of the next hole. There are some Lincoln and Mercs with 5 on 5 and 5 on 5.5, some Jeeps with 5 on 5.5, but I think most all the Mopars had 5 on 4.5. Be sure to measure the hole in the center too be sure the wheels you find will fit over your hubs...
dstruble - Just a guess... but what about trying a 5-lug Mustang wheel?
BTW, you can have your rear axles redrilled to 5 X 4.5 so that the front and rear match. The selection of aftermarket rims, when you are ready, would be plentiful. 5 X 5.5 are very few.
All mid size ford cars, ranger, bronco ll and mopor has the same bolt pattern from the 1960-2006 . Just measure the wheel frist some of this cars may have a bigger bolt pattern.
Late model 5 hole Mustang is a different bolt pattern. The 5/4.5 pattern is very common for custom wheels. It's currently used on Ranger's and Explorers, as well as some Jeep products, so availablity is good in many diameters and widths. If you're planning a rear axle swap, the popular Explorer is the correct pattern to match with the (probably) Granada rotors on the front.
