Blend door

Is there a sure fire way of telling wether you have the infamous blend door problem? I have full heat in the rear but in the front you have to fiddle with the settings and eventually it will come out WARM. When I put it on AC it'll come out cold on all vents except one, the one on the right side of the radio. Same thing with the Heat it'll come out warm on all vents except that one on the right side of the radio, comes out hot.

Most of the posts I've read indicate that with a broken blend door the temerature is not regulated at all. With a cold temp setting it throws out hot air, because of the blend door not closing. So maybe your issue is with the temperature regulating switch that controls the blend door. I would start there. I would remove the switch and check it with a volt meter while connected, or an ohm meter disconnected. I believe the rear control switch is identical, so if you want check them side by side, or interchange them, this will help rule out posibilities.

Where is the teperature regulating switch? Would a Haynes manual tell me? I thought these all worked on vacuum. I found the vacuum line that controls the defrost vent.
