Can't get a reading on a timing light to adjust timing on my 1973 Ford truck. 240 straight six engine.
New timing light works well on other cars. Even tried powering light from other car battery, using plug wires that gave me readings on other cars.
Truck started running rough, losing power while driving and idling very rough. Checked carb, points, top dead center on #1 plug, then thought maybe adjustment by a timing light would get it right.
Any ideas why I can't get a timing light reading, or the logical progression of where to look from here?
