Most trucks and SUVs have a handle on the A-Pillar so people can grip on to when they get in. Or there is one on the top side of the door jamb. I want to add one of those (I currently have none).
Anyone done this? Want to make sure I don't run into any snags if I do this.

Reason: stule
I'm about to, I just haven't gotten to it because of the holidays.
I'm using dark red handles out of a Chrysler minivan (well, two minivans actually) because they match my crewcab's interior close enough.
Don't mount them on the plastic trim, they'll flex and break off after a while. You have to mount them through the plastic, to the metal underneath - the "channel" that the trim mounts to.
What I intended to do, just to be sure they stay put forever, was to tack weld two nuts for each of the handles, to the metal channel that makes up the inside of the pillars. Then use machine bolts with allen heads just to make then "attractive".
Remove the trim enough to see where the metal is and attach them at that point, mine are mounted with sheet metal screws into the metal post, two on each end of the strap, and are very secure.
