Hi, Has anyone put line locks on their truck for using their winch? I was using mine today and the wheel chucks did not work in the snow and mud. Just thought that might be a better way to go. Or if some one has a better idea. Thanks, Erv
i put one in the rear for using my twin sticks and as a parking brake, but it holds all four in 4x4 dcecently, but i usually end up just chaining the back to something stationary so i dont have to worry
KubotaOrange76 Do they bleed off or does it hold. Some one told me they will not hold for a long time. Seems like I am always pulling on my freinds out in the middle of a field without anything to chain too. If it makes a good parking brake for you sounds like it holds good. Erv
I used my anti-thief device www.brakelock.com as a line lock and it works well locking all four wheels. It will not bleed down if the truck is running or allow the rear drums/wheels to slip like a parking brake.
Though blocks and line locks only go so far. I found folded metal chocks stink compared to solid rubber blocks when winching. I winched my truck backwards over my folded steel metal chocks before and completely squished them into the mud. If I wasnt on someone else's property I would have left them there to rust instead of digging them out.
