Question Rough Runnin'!

Help please! I have a 2000 F-150 w/ 5.4! Replaced head on driver's side and now vehicle idles great; however, when driving get really bad sputtering. If punched sometimes it smoothes out. Do I have an injector problem?

It could be a bad coil (cop). Is the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT on?

Was it run like this before you replaced the head?

my truck started to do this 2 weeks ago - the problem comes and goes - sometimes the idle is smooth and other times you can feel it skipping - when I punch the gas it puts in the passing gear and smooths out. I wish whatever the problem is would throw an engine code so I can at least find out wnat is going on...

It may have a code stored. Scan it and see if anything shows up.
