Knock sensor Were is it?

My haynes book shows a small pic of the knock sensor. When I look for it I am lost. Can someone tell me were it is? 1997 f-150 4.6L 2X2.

Thanks

Its under the intake. Unfortunately you have to remove the intake to replace it

Thanks,

Does it control knock when the engine is cold or all the time?

For the first minute or so it doesn't read the knock sensor untill the system is in fuel control then it constantly uses it all the time. There are many other factors that will cause a ping like dirty mass air flow sensor, or egr either not working or ports plugged. Are you sure it a ping or knock. a ping is usually noticeable on acceleration.

it is ping under slight accel you can hear it. Under hard accel it is very loud and I noticed today during hard accel when it pings there is smoke comming from the exhaust.

Well replaced the 02 sensors, did the maf cleaning and ran some seafoam though the intake. The ping on slight accel is gone. If i goose it just a bit at cruising speed it pings just a bit. If I hard accel it pings like mad for about a second just before shifting. So at this point I have changed the O2s, EGR, EGR flow sensor, I am lost.
