Ford Truck Enthusiasts is looking for volunteer moderators for the message boards. Each moderator would have edit/delete/move/lock power with the forum(s) they moderate. All postings made by the moderator would have an icon indicating you're a moderator.
The duties, quite simply, are to uphold FTE's standards (which will be supplied to you) and to bring to my attention anything you need assistance with. This is not a paid position, though I will offer you discounts in our web store. No special skills are needed, you just need to check messages at least once a day in your forum and be dedicated to the task. It should take no more than a few minutes of your time each day and its not a big deal to miss a day every now and then.
If no one else volunteer's, I would like to for the 221/260/289/302/351w V8 forum. I read thru the boards at least twice a day (well maybe on the weekends only one time on one day) so I would be happy to help.

Ken,
I don't mind helping out. My choice would be the '48 to '60 conference, but I'll take whatever you give me. If you need, I'll even take a couple.
Kenny
Ken, I'll go anywhere, you need help. Since the others are taken. Howabout General Discussion?

Looks like we've got our first round of moderators! I'll get with each of you personally in the next few days as I catch up around here. I decided on moderators for two reasons:
1. People like being a part of and having a say in a community.
2. It'll give me a chance to be more of a participant rather than a den mother. :-) One forum is easy to moderate, a couple dozen gets too be way too much work!
I'll be making a lot of changes, this is the first, that will give everyone a bigger and better part in the site. We used to have a "core" mailing list that allowed the "core" members to help set direction here. The moderators will be part of the next generation core, plus some of the old-timers from the previous core. As always, FTE will attempt to show those who help some form of gratitude.
I just about have the moderator guidelines/help sheet done. It contains 14 moderator guidelines. On Monday evening I'll activate moderator privileges for the moderators. You'll then have access to a private moderator board and a moderator admin menu. The guidelines will be posted in the private board and will evolve as we learn.
Sorry, missed it. You've got it. Next time on in the main forum menu you'll see an admin link. Before doing anything, go to the last forum listed, the private moderators forum and catch up on the postings there, including the moderation guidelines.
