hi guys i have a 1977 f100 with a 302 cleveland c4 auto and 350 holley after traveling a long distance i have trouble starting. i have been told that my float level is to high though it seems to be adjusted correctly. i mhave also been told that my fuel could be boiling any insight into this would be gladly appreciated.
leah
Where are you from? There's a guy on here who calls 302 "cleveland" and he is from Australia. Anyway, how do you know the float level is correct? I assume you took out BOTH sight plugs and the fuel only came out when you jiggled the truck by pushing on the fender?
is the truck easier to start once it cools a bit? after a long run feel the carburator to see if its real hot, if so you can get an insulator to go between it and the manifold to keep it cool, i have had this prob on many trucks
yes it is easier to start when it has cooled down for a while and yes the carby is hot i will try the insulator and let you know how it goes. Thanks for that much appreciated. I have also been told to try putting a inline filter closer to the carby so that fuel is sitting in the filter what do you think about that?
Thanks guys , Leah
