This may sound stupid but do all PSD's have a block heater? I live in PA and bought my truck last summer ... it is winter now and I have no visible plug to turn on the block heater overnight. Is this an optional equip or am completly missing something?
They all have block heaters, but not all of them have block heater CORDS. Check by the passenger side fog light or tow hook just inside the bumper and if the cord is there it will be placed there with a cable tie. If there is not a cable in place, you can get the cable from Ford for about $40 or just have them install it for you.
Assuming you have an 05 or 06 you don't have the cord unless the "Block Heater" option is listed on the sticker. If so it should be behind the passenger tow hook. Otherwise you can get them at a Ford or International dealer. FYI, mine didn't come with it and I purchased it from the dealer and had them install it.
My 06 did not come with the cord either, but I read in this forum that one can be bought from Napa and easily installed. I went online to Napa auto and ordered non-napa part # 3600008 for $18.49. Shipped to the house it was under $25.00. The heater element on the 6.0 is on the passenger side of the engine near the back of the block and is above the starter. You can go to Ford Diesel Doctor and find teh instructions on how to route it if interested.
