Towing Capacity

I am thinking about hauling scrap and other things for a living. I have an 04 F-350 CC SRW 6.0. Looking at a 25ft gooseneck trailer which I would guess will weigh about 4000lbs. I was looking at my owners manual and I think my truck has a max towing capacity of 12,200lbs. Is this correct. Seems light to me, what are all these guys pulling these dually goosenecks with, F-550's? I just got the truck paid for so buying a new 550 isnt what I wanna do riught know anyways. Thanks for the help.
