dome light

i have a 81 f150 and the dome light dont come on when i open the door what is wrong ? how can i fix it?

Check the lamp.

Just kidding. If the lamp is good, check to see that you have 12V at the lamp holder. Check it with both the door open and then the switch on to make sure both conditions will light the lamp. Check the fuse if there is no voltage. Start there and see what you get.

if the light works besides that its probally your door switch (the one that opens and closes with the door)

yea the problem is with the door switch. if i push the button alot the light comes on.but it just dont come on when i open the door. do i just need to get a new switch??

Yes, or you can try to spray it with wd40 and see if that helps.
