Better heads
I have a 2002 F250 with the 5.4 I just blew a spark Plug agian It now back at the dealer getting fixed Its still under warranty at least for now THANK YOU.
Is there a better after market heads for this motor or a good fix for FORDS Spark plug blowing heads.
Or is there a recall no one telling me about for the comon head breakage.
Besides the cold engine knock during start up every one says is normal for the 5.4 it's been a good motor with 82.000 miles on the clock.
My old 1999 Expeindtion with 5.4 motor with 130.000 miles when I traded it in. Did not knock at all but used oil and did not blow plugs like this 5.4 in my 2002 F250 did 1999 had better heads on them ?.
One more when I rebuild this motor is they long skirt pistons I can put in the motor to get rid of the cold strat Knock, this rebuilding will be couple years from now.
I am planning to keep this truck for a long time any help would help.

Check out the sealed power brand for the long skirt pistons. There are a few aftermarket head builders for the mod motors. Remember a 2V 4.6 head will fit a 2V 5.4 block... so many Mustang heads are useable on your truck.

Will 03 heads fit a 02 block

I think the 99 and 02 heads are basically the same. In 03 they went to 8 threads in the head versus 4 threads in 99-02.
