58 F-100?
My 16 yr old neighbor kid just bought an "old" F-100. He has a few questions for the gallery if you don't mind:
1) He thinks it's a '58. Is there a good grille identifier chart out there that shows the differences between '57 - '60 trucks?
2) Where is he likely to find the VIN on this vehicle and does anyone have a good decoder for this range of years?
3) What were factory options for engines/transmissions?

Can you post the vin# we can figure out what you have from that. It should be eather on the drivers door piller or the glove box door. Or stamped on the top rh frame rail between the cab and the core support.
The power train would have been eather a Y block 272 or 292 or the 223 6 cyl. the trans 3 or 4 speed or a auto. the rear, ford 9" 1/2 ton danna 60 3/4 ton
