98 Exp with Electrical Issues

Hi there,

My 98 Expedition has about 115,000 miles on it. I am have some strange electrical problems. The gages all go dead and stay there until you turn off the vehical and restart it, or they will go dead while driving. At night it is even more exciting, the dash lights go out along with the tail lights.
It is more noticeable when it rains or is very damp out. We have had the vehical for about 2 years and in the last few months it seems to be getting worse.
Of course the dealer says to drop it off and they will take a look, normally that is a $500 bill just to look.
Any help would be great, sounds like there are simular issues out there but they all have a little different problem.

Thanks

It sounds like you gem module is getting wet. Usually from a leaking windshield. Do a search for gem module

Thanks, I was hoping you wouldn't say Gem Module. The dealer was saying that it could be the module, but they would have to test it.
I will do that search and see what else pops up.
Thanks again
