I have a 2.3l 94 ranger. I do not have power to the fule pump. I do have power to the relay but it does not energize and send power out. If I jump the relay and supply power it runs the pump. Anyone know where the relay gets its signal to send power?
Look for the inertia switch, If I remember right, its on the pass. side about where your right foot will be when sitting in it just below the plenumn. It's black with a red center button and two wires attached.
The PCM grounds the voltage from the coil side of the pump relay
Sounds like the problem is on the coil side of the relay
You need a wiring diagram, a voltmeter & you need to connect a jumper wire as shown at this link to keep the circuit energized so that you can test it.
Thanks guys. I am embarrased to say that once I found out that I needed constant power to the FP relay, alnog with ingnition power,I found a rusty fuse that was not allowing this power. Fours hours later and a $.50 fuse and I am good to go. Thanks for the referral to autozone for the wiring diagram.
