I recently bought a 1990 F250 and am going thru it, getting it ready for the road. I pulled the instrument cluster to replace some bad bulbs and when removing the trim piece around the cluster, I discovered some of the trim piece retaining clips are missing. Not sure of the correct name for the clips... a "folded over" clip that snugly fits a tab of the various interior trim pieces (also used on the trim piece that covers the radio area for example) and the clip then snaps into slots on the dash...holding the trim piece snugly in place. I have checked several parts stores..they claim they have never seen such a clip before. Then went to a Ford dealer in Tucson, AZ....after bringing out an old parts book they found the clips I need........no longer available!
Does anyone have a source for these "no longer available" clips? If my description is not clear enough, I'll try to explain them better....or can send a closeup picture of them if attachments are possible.
Any help will be VERY appreciated...I need the clips to start putting the dash area bacl together
I did do a Google search and came up with several fastener sources....Cliphouse is one I didn't see. Went thru several online catalogs, including Cliphouse with no luck finding the needed clips. Checking out wrecking yards may be my only choice. Still amazed some suppliers/manufacturers who cater to restoration don't list such a clip. Thanks for the reply
