rust, vibration, and a squeak
I own a '94 bronco xlt with manual transfer case and 5 spd with 190,000
As expected, the rust is starting to be "noticeable".
ques. 1. Has anyone ever thought of Line-xing the bottom half after treating the rust which has not eaten all the way through yet?
ques. 2. Due to a bad rear bearing in the transfer case, can I replace it with a recently rebuilt one out of an '85 f250 6.9 diesel 4x4?
ques. 3. What does it mean when my alternator squeaks and how can I oil it before it locks up?

answer 2. I don't know how hard it is to replace a rear bearing in the transfer case, but if you go through all the trouble of changing it I would just buy a new one that you know will fit.
answer 3. I have never heard of an alternator squeaking, but I can imagine it can happen. Alternators do not have oil capabilities. If it is squeeking... I would just buy a new one.
