I have a '91 ford f-250 with a 7.5l "460" with the independent i-beam suspention. A couple weeks ago i was playing in the snow and on my way back home one of the bearing in the front end seased up and caused the tire to break free i fixed everythign changing the steering knuckle, brake caliper, outer axle ,rotor and the spindle but now my problem is that the 4wd wont engade the parts are all out of a '78 ford 3/4 ton i used the automatic locking hub out of my truck so im not sure if that may be my problem or if its something else i was also corious if it would be easier just to swap out the axle for a soild axle and if so a recommondation
If you do the solid axle swap look for a Dana 60 front. I can't help ya out with the 4wd not engaging problem, as I have never worked on the TTB front ends before.
put it in 4wd, and in park, climb under there and see if the drive shaft spins. if so, somthing in the t case. if it wont, then its got to be in the hubs. the auto hubs suck, so might as well get some good manual hubs.
