fuel line disconnect question

89 B2 with 2.9

In the process of removing the fuel tank I was reaching in to remove the fuel lines, the tank slipped and the quick disconnect fittings broke. Is it possible to replace these connectors or do I have replace the whole line? I tried to remove the pieces lift inside the fuel line with a needle nose, but they do not seem to want to come out. I image they are pressed into the hoses.

If it was me, I would replace the lines with steel brake lines and make sure I put in relief loops or Ss for vibration and flex. You can buy replacement connectors. They are basically connectors attached to barbed ends. If you go to PepBoys you can probably find them in the HELP! or Conduit-Tite catalog.

I believe the connectors are put into the lines when the lines are almost heated to a liquid state and then the connectors are pushed in. No real way to get the broken pieces out or to duplicate them.

The best way to dupe them is to get the barbed connectors and a roll of new line sized for a BII. If it was a Taurus or something we usually just ordered the new lines for $110 or so from Ford.
