I have a 5 speed zfS5-42 tranny that I am going to put in my early bronco. I got it from a wrecked F250. The rear housing was broke off. During the wreck it seems that the tranny was jammed in 4th gear hard. I cannot get it out of gear. I removed the rear housing bolts and the allen bolts on the side, but still cannot get the rear housing off. It seems to be hanging up on the top of the hosuing slightly to the passenger side.
Does anyone know if there is something else that I have to take apart to remove this housing? Is it because it is stuck in gear? Ant idea how it get it out of gear. The 3-4 shift rail soes not seem to want to move at all.
I payed little to nothing for this tranny, so I would like to see if I can replace some parts to make it workable for me.
