I dont know if this is the place for it but it's a 66 F100 so... I'm wondering if any of you folks have any idea on what is a resonable size cabover for the 66 F100 Custom Cab. I want to get one for the truck but dont want to overdo it..weight/topheavy etc..
Anything I should do to the suspension or other etc..TIA
My father had a 8' cabover I believe on my 65 for years. It was even with the back of the long bed and he even towed the boat behind that. I believe it or not he used to back us six kids in there along with the family German shepard.
That old 352 had no problem at all with the load. He did add a set of overloads to it but they now set in a box outside of my garage.
Overloads ? I'm planning to use this thing only for camping outings, camper, boat, gear..+ two Pitts (since a gun in Cali is so primitive LOL) I guess I need to find out all my specs on this truck and go from there, just orded the Steve Christ book to get insight into how to discern my motor's status.. this with Highball's input will hopefully get me on the right path...Kinda hoping some reference checks and fine tuning will be all thats needed..
Bob, Hauling the load is one thing, having it stable is another. Overload springs, or air shocks would help in that dept. You will need the extra springs to compensate for the rock and sway of a very top heavy load. IMHO
Riding with a friend yesterday in a 04 Superduty reminded me why I like the F100.
