Torque converter unlocking

Over the weekend I was using my cousin's 95 Bronco, 351 auto. Cruising on the highway, I noticed that the rpms would go up erratically. I noticed that every time I used the right turn signal, the torque converter would slip just for a moment. Only turning right, not left. After thinking about this for a while, I thought that maybe a brake light may be out or something to cause the trans to unlock the t/c. I don't have possession of the vehicle anymore but am still curious as to what this could be. I own a 95 F150 which is very similar and never experienced anything like this. Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thaks Al.
