turning my 360 into 390 and need to find a cross hatcher but i can't find anyone who sells them. i'm in atl ga...is there anywhere online? jegs didn't have anything to say. thanks
cross hatcher?????????? you won't find one they don't make them. the cross hatch is done by moving the hone up and down. the best hones are the bunches of grapes hones. but i used a regular 3 stone hone i got at kragen for 25.00 on my last engine. the rings sealed well and it runs good. just don't over hone!
just DO NOT give the drill too much juice. keep the rpms under 1,000. just take it slow and easy , just do not stay in one place. you should go top to bottom every 10 seconds. i do that about 15 times. just do not hit the webbing in the engine, it is righ under the cylinders. also use lots of oil. 10w30 is best. also you will need the coarse stones sold seperate. they run 7.99.
well i've got 5,000 miles on my 360 that i'm makin a 390 and my machinist told me to just reintroduce the cross hatch pattern back to the cylinders. i found some honers on ebay from flex-hone but they're 35 bucks. just wanted to konw if there's a local parts store that can get 'em.

Around here, you can get a three stone, drill driven, hone at any auto parts store. Pretty common tool. I can't imagine that it is much different there (3,000 miles away).
