Dropping a T-18
Hi guys. I am about to drop my T-18 transmission from my 1989 F-150 4x4 with a 4.9 liter engine.
The extension housing is broken an needs to be replaced, so I am going to drop the transmission also just to give it a look over. It is a manual. I plan on dropping it with the transfer case on. Is this possible without killing myself?
Any helpful tips?

I just finished doing this in my 93 F350 crewcab, 5.8L and ZF. The process is similar:

May, or may not help you. I made a frame that I bolted to the tranmission, and jacked that down with a floorjack, since the bottom of the tranny wasn't flat, or rounded enough to sit in the grooves on the floor jack's pad.

Haha, thank you. I desided to not drop it as a whole. I took the transfer case off, it wasn't the funnest thing I have done, but I can tell it will be a little down hill from here...Untill I have to put it back on.
