Hey everyone, I am thinking about goin to look at a 65 F Series that a co-worker told me that was for sale. Are there any certain spots that are really prone to severe rust that I need to look at? I was told it runs great and only has surface rust but I wanna make sure there is no severe cancer. Thanks in advance.
Thanks, and I forgot to ask, was power steering a common option on a 65 by any chance? I'm not familiar with the 60's era trucks or vehicles of any kind.
One other spot is the cab floor crossmembers at the outer edges, aside from that ZombieSlayer has them covered. PS was not real common in the mid '60's, but easily added if you want.

I would say that ps would be an extreemly rare factory install if you could find one at all.
The cabmount and floorboard rot is usually the same. The cab mount is welded to the cab floor and is under the feet.
Drip rail rot isn't seen a lot in the south, I suspect that is a northeast salt/snow issue.
Well thanks for all the replys everyone, but it figures I find out the truck was sold yesterday sometime, heh guess i'll just have to wait until I run across another one :-\.
