Help

i have a 1992 F-150 with a 1996 351W in it and i was wondering if i could take a 351 out of a 1978 Ford and put it in my truck. also if the intake is interchangeable. CerealKiller

They will swap and bolt in, but the Oil Dip Stick enters in a different location. I believe in 78, it enters the block just above the oil pan, and in 92 enters in the Oil Pan. You will have two Dip Sticks because you will more then likely have to have the Oil Pump and Pan from the 92. The Manifolds will interchange as well.

I believe there is a difference with Lifters as some of the newer models used Roller Lifters. Things like Distributer sensors will all have to be moved over, but here is where I would not offer advise. I will leave it to the more experienced.

It will fit, but would only be easy if the 1978 351 is a W motor...
