My first post. I have a 69 F100 that has a newer inline 6 and C6 trans. I have yet to figure out what year the engine and transmission are. I just got the tag off the trans, the info on the top line reads PGD AL3A A13 and the bottom line reads DBUP YA030458.
First question. Can someone date this trans for me? Second question. I need a new Driveshaft Slip Yoke and a trans filler tube w/dipstick for this trans. Four junkyards here in Stark County, Ohio had nothing but junk and two Ford dealers want to sell only 90 and up. We have some catalogs but none list what we need.
As my son and I work on this truck, we first want to get all the mechanicals straighted out and then start on the body. I think the inline 6 will be plenty powerful enough for a 16 year old, but he does want to lower the suspension and install a killer sound system.
Hope someone can help as this will be our first post in a long journey to restore a fine truck.
Measure the diameter and count the splines on the output shaft, then call driveshaft shops for a replacement. As to the tube, it's probably going to require you looking at your tranny, then going to the junkyard and finding a similar tranny in a truck, and getting it's fill tube.
