Red face 2005 Electrical Gremlins?

I bought this 2005 X with only 12k miles on it from the Ford dealer. The first thing that I noticed is that when I set the Ford alarm using the key fob it locks immediately but then the chirp of the horn doesn't happen for about 30 seconds. I had a 2003 F250 with a Ford alarm and it would chirp and lights would flash immediately.

When I asked the dealer I was told that the 2005 alarms are different than the 2003. Makes sense. He said it was working properly. What do you guys think? Anyone with a 2005 truck or X that has the Ford alarm? Do the lights flash when locking or unlocking. What about the chirps?

Also, the auto AC controls have died twice but then come back on later after the truck had been shut off for awhile. Luckily, I ran to the dealer and they saw it and are ordering a new AC control head unit (said it is bad). Of course it started working right as I left the dealer.

ALSO...Every once in awhile my truck won't lock/unlock using the key fob (not the battery) and fixes itself later in the day.

One more...The truck locks the doors when you start driving. Well, a few days ago it stopped auto locking. Of course it fixed itself about two days later and now auto locks just fine.

You know the minute I go to the dealer they will say they can't do anything unless they can duplicate the problems. Ain't gonna happen.

Any ideas? I have only had it for 3 months and it has been in the shop 5 times (two for oil leaks...still leaking).

I love my truck but this is getting annoying.

Mine will not "chirp" the horn unless I depress the keyfob TWICE. It locks on the first press (as well as flashes the lights) and "confirms" with a "chirp" on the second if you like. I usually use the door keypad last two numbers to lock when pressed together. Keyfob used if I forget.

Edit: I think the flash and chirp may be programmable either thru overhead console or thru key insertions/ignition turns on/off's (like I have to do since I do not have overhead console). I programmed the headlight "on" delay time using this method as well.

Sorry cannot help on the other gremlins though...Do you notice the other issues in times of higher than normal humidity? Perhaps a moisture induced short or something. Or perhaps a lose crimp (which would be a B***H to find!)

Good luck.

05 Won't Start/Grandson playing with key lock/alarm

Was in Church and heard alarm in parking lot. Went out with keys to turn it off today and went back in. One hour later went out to start the truck and cranks but doesn't start. This is the very first time. Is this a security issue? Help!

If you still have warranty left, make damn sure you note all these problems with the dealership service shop.

Tell them you want it all fixed before the warranty expires.

Your X isn't named Christine is it? Did you have an Oasis report done on it? Next time you are at the dealer ask for one, it is free. It is like a carfax report. It might explain your problems. If that doesn't work you might look into a exorcism.
