Question CEL light

I have a 1994 Explorer with the 4.0L motor and it is an OBD2 does anyone know where i go to test for the code why the CEL is on?

Psssh.

Not in this lifetime does a 1994 Exploder have OBD2. Unless you swapped in a complete 1995 or later engine, harness, tranny, body harness and the like, you have OBD1.

As the recent post suggests, do go to Autozone, but buy the Haynes manual (Even for a Ranger if it comes to that) and you will know how to basically pull codes with an undone paperclip.

Alread - I've seen some posts where even a 1994 Explorer has the OBDII port under the stering column. But it's inoperable. Still have the OBD I connectors under the hood, passenger side at the firewall.
