Intermittent Miss
I’m new to the list.
I bought new a 1992 F-150 Super Cab 4x4 5.8L with the E4OD and 140,000 miles
Recently, the engine has started running rough and missing/jerking at various speeds.
The engine starts easily; oil consumption rate has not changed since new, gas consumption rate still 11-13 MPG. The battery and alternator are good. The transmission works properly. I changed the MLP/Neutral Safety switch a couple of years ago. The gauge for the front gas tank works intermittently and the ABS light stays on. There are NO Trouble codes present.
Since then I have done the following;
Replaced Timing Chain
Replaced Plugs, wires, coil, cap, rotor and Fender Mounted ICM
Replaced fuel filter
Replaced Thermostat
Replaced PCV Valves
I need some suggestions as to what I should try next.
The local garages are limited to trouble shooting using codes only.
No one has an Engine analyzer in my area.
I’m open to suggestions.
