Revised Tuner Poll

After problems with the other recent poll on this topic I decided to start a new poll.

Please select the brand of tuner you use or choose one of the no tuner option if appropriate.

The thread is closed for now as I'm still watching debate on the other tuner poll thread. If people decide that this one looks OK then I'll unlock the thread and let the voting begin. And actually I already see one thing wrong with it - I need to include the new Superchips 1805 Internet updateable tuner to the list.

OK guys this is a new year, I am going to take at face value that everyone makes mistakes....including me, and other members..so...the other one is gone.... keep this one above the boards and forget what was said in the it,( the gone thread ).......Completely starting over, give this a go.....Daryl and Big if this things turns for one second remove “that” post.

Gents I am very serious at wanting this to stay on track and clean, so let's not tempt fate AT ALL

OK, my vote is in.

Thanks for fixing up the poll Tim. I'll keep an eye on the thread.

I don’t have a tuner yet and I will be researching all of them.

I did have a good conversation with Mark at DPP and I will be looking into the Edge Platinum.

LOL, here we go again.

I think we better leave this one alone.

Every major tuning company is spoken for.

This is an interesting poll. I really want a tuner, but have a hang-up with my ignorance. For me it's important to know exactly what the tune is doing to my engine, so I can better judge what it is I'm looking for, and how hard I can work it without damage. As well as what items may need to be "beefed-up" to do what I want it to do. Unfortunately, that has meant learning all about the engine and it's different systems, no small task for a weekend warrior since I can't find anyone willing to let me tear down their 6.0, and I'm darned sure not going to do it to my own yet. It's also meant learning what the different types of tuner's do. But thanks to folks like Matt, who has explained many of the systems, Jim for his insight into the tuning biz and what they do to come up with tunes, and Daryl for the SAE Tech paper's that explained a lot of the terminology Matt and Jim were using, I'm not to far off. I can't wait.

That wasnt my intent. I just figured fair is fair. Theirs didnt include then new SCMT 1805 and this doesnt include both edges. Not trying to start flame war maybe to help prevent. I would love this knowledge because I am very interested in a tuner.

Sadly the poll is limited to 10 different items so it can't get any bigger than it is now.

Maybe folks could add to their poll selections by posting how they like their experience with the tuner(s) they've used and which particlar models that they have if a brand has more than one.

I chose no tuner yet but considering one, mainly because my wife always says "never say never". I have serious temptation to jump into the tuner world but know that if I ever did, I would not go for the "pushing the envelope" type performance enhancers. But then again, like the wife says......
On the other hand, I really don't see a need for more HP/Torque. My truck is working great right now and does everything I need it to do with a grin. I am an adrenalyne freak so that is where the temptation for a tuner sets in. But I have a hard time with the thought of fixing somethin' that aint broke, ya know? Some day I may break down and that's why I chose the considering it option.
