Unhappy heater problem

Hi, first time user here. I have a 1990 f150 4wd w/5.0 in it. The heater in it used to cook me, now I cannot get any heat. I put in a new thermosthat, BOTH heater hoses are very hot to the touch, top rad hose is hot (had the heater core flushed) yet when I turn it on I get cool air out of the defroster, and luke warm heat at the vent. The water level is topped off. If I flip the lever to A/C it gets really cold, showing that that is working! I am stumped!!!!!!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Heater Resolution

It sounds like some fell in the defrost vents and is jamming the door. I had the same issue (no heat) and when I opened the heater up, I found a pen jamming the door open. It did not affect the control portion at all.
